Question 1:
Is it adequate to say that Intercultural Communication is not yet an academic discipline in its own right, but perhaps a discipline in the making, somewhere in between interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity? Could you elaborate on this and maybe tell us also something about how Intercultural Communication has developed as a field of study?

Question 2:
In a recent article you have written: “Intercultural Communication is at best intercultural dialogue, a jointly traveled path towards learning and understanding, respect and responsibility. Different opinions become a source for new solutions, and culture turns into a valuable resource. In the multicultural and interdependent world intercultural dialogue is our chance to make a difference.” In your understanding, what is the essence of intercultural dialogue?
